The steps for the Individual Idea Box Traffic Building Idea Generation Technique is adapted from a technique created by F. Zwicky.   Apply the following four steps of the adapted technique:

1. Identify the challenge of drawing more Online or Offline traffic to your business.

2. Select four parameters of your challenge. They can be marketing, customer service, distribution, and motivation.

3. List 5 variations under the four parameters. Under marketing you could mention direct mail, online, retail, word of mouth and writing articles. Under customer service you could list personalized, checkout, your people, returns policy and first contact. Under distribution you could list self service, just in time delivery, sell direct to the customer, franchises and have others distribute the product. Under motivation you could list employee motivation, customer motivation, free gifts, points and two for one.

4. Finally, randomly circle one item under each list. and ask yourself if this combination suggests an idea to draw more Online or Offline traffic. If not, randomly circle another item under each list. Repeat the process until a practical idea is suggested.
